Shortages Arise in Flu Shot Supplies
(2009-11-11)
(WEKU) -

For central Kentucky residents wanting a flu shot and actually getting one are two different things.

Kevin Hall with the Fayette County Health department says there are difficulties involving both the H1N1 and seasonal flu vaccines.

"There are delays in getting the vaccine both seasonal and H1N1 already the health department along with most other places in central Kentucky have run out of the seasonal vaccine we're relied upon getting new shipments in," Hall said.

In fact, Hall says the seasonal flu shot is as popular as ever. He says the first shots were administered a month earlier than in a typical year. With H1N1 vaccine, Hall says the health department is getting consistent shipments, but sometimes, less than anticipated.
