Counties Prepare for Special Election
(2009-10-27)
(Kentucky Public Radio) -

Now that Governor Beshear has set a date for a special election in Carter and Lewis counties, local officials must plan for it.

Voters there will choose a new state representative. Carter County Clerk Mike Johnston says lining up poll workers for the December 8th election could harder than usual.

Johnston predicts voter turnout for the 96th district house race in the 10 to 15 percent range.
