Principal Retires as Accusations Arise
Jefferson County Public School officials say the principal of Male High School has retired following numerous accusations of inappropriate conduct.
JCPS spokesperson Lauren Roberts says officials substantiated that Dave Wilson showed staff members a surveillance video of two students having sex in the school cafeteria, and that he had alcohol on his breath at a recent school event.
Roberts says Wilson tendered his retirement last week after eight years as principal and three decades in the school system.
"Mr. Wilson also did a lot of good over the years, and we don't want that to be lost, but unfortunately here we are with some bad decision-making that has basically cost him his job," Roberts said.
Roberts says there are no plans to pursue criminal charges related to the surveillance tape, which has been destroyed.
