UK Opens Science Library
The University of Kentucky has unveiled a new and improved Science Library designed to make research easy and more convenient. Today University officials cut the ribbon and opened the facility to students and faculty.
UK math professor Peter Perry says the library has been in the planning stages for a long time.
"What we celebrate today is that the science library that was initially conceived nearly 15 years ago has now become a reality. It's a clean, modern, well-organized facility with better study space for students, an integrated and easily-accessible collection for the those of us who do research and better facilities for the library faculty and staff who make this whole operation possible."
The new library merges all of UK's physical science collections including materials related to astronomy, chemistry, math, physics and geological sciences, all under one roof. It includes three full floors of reference materials, computer labs and work stations.
