Revisions Considered for Sex Offender Law
Cities across Kentucky will watch Frankfort closely next year as the state legislature considers new limitations on sex offenders.
A ruling Thursday by the Kentucky Supreme Court declared portion's of the state's three-year-old sex offender law unconstitutional. Ashland City Commissioner Kevin Gunderson says many communities now wonder what's next.
Kentucky's highest court said the law could not apply to persons convicted of a sex offense prior to July 12th , 2006. That's when the law was enacted. It required sex offenders to relocate if they lived within a thousand feet of a school, day care center or playground.
