Fredericksburg Virginia student, Chalawn Hutson's mother has worked at the Pentagon. Hutson says her husband is a lieutenant in the army.
"Doesn't matter it was eight years later. It was yesterday to me, so it felt like it happened that day. So it will never change for me personally and my husband I know as well because that's why he joined the army today. This day is the reason why he decided to join the army so it's a big deal in our family a very big deal," Hutson said.
Craig Miller stood by watching and listening to the names being called aaaa He said he feels like it's a sacred event to honor the people who perished.

The 9/11 observance in Lexington included the reading of the names of the victims on the front lawn of the University of Kentucky.
