Coal Tax Revenue Expected to Fall

Revenues from Kentucky's coal severance tax are likely to drop by a quarter this fiscal year. That prediction is from the Chief Economist in the State Budget Office, Greg Harkenrider.In a web cast by Kentucky educational television, Harkenrider said this year's record-breaking collections probably can't be duplicated.
Harkenrider believes the state will collect $220 million in severance taxes this year.
