Cap-and-Trade in the Commonwealth
(2009-07-07)
(Kentucky Public Radio) - A couple of Kentucky congressmen are predicting big trouble for the bluegrass if the senate goes along with the clean energy and security act. The measure intended to reduce green house gas emissions and develop alternative energy sources passed the house last month.

Republican Geoff Davis, who represents Ashland and Maysville, terms the so-called "cap and trade" plan a prescription for raising utility bills and increasing the price of gas and food.

In fact, Davis says it'll hike the cost of nearly every consumer product. Davis charges the bill is really not about energy. It's about the economic colonization of the heartland by coastal states like New York and California.
