Downtown Lexington Plans Lack Clarity
"We do not have a clear strategic plan for how our city how we envision our city in the future and how we're gonna get there," Lawless said.
During the planning process, authority President Harold Tate says they reached out to other groups. Tate's been charged with discovering how similar organizations function in other cities and how they are funded. Tate promises to periodically report back to council and determine how the authority can play a bigger part in building Lexington's economy.

Several members of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Council want a clearer idea of what's planned for downtown development. The council's intergovernmental committee discussed the issue with the president of the downtown development authority. Council member Diane Lawless believes a cohesive planning process is absent."We do not have a clear strategic plan for how our city how we envision our city in the future and how we're gonna get there," Lawless said.
