Fayette Budget Plan Deemed Irresponsible
While the budget doesn't call for any layoffs now, Ellinger worries it could happen down the road.
"When you start looking at ways to cut unfortunately then you start have to go in to potential people's jobs and I'd rather try to not add stuff here so we don't have to worry about people's jobs down the road," Ellinger said.
Ellinger said the council has set a budget that's irresponsible. He worries revenue projections are high, given the current state of the economy.
Ellinger believes the budget approved relies on too optimistic revenue projections.
"Now how can you can increase your revenue projections when they are actually going down? I think when you're setting a budget I think we've set a budget that is irresponsible," Ellinger said.
