Budget Shortfall Patched with Stimulus
An economist at the University of Tennessee is warning states the economy will still be weak when stimulus funds expire in 2011. Dr. Bill Fox says recessions are never one or two-year events.
Dr. Fox encourages states to find more long-term fixes for future budget cycles.

Before adjourning the special session, Kentucky lawmakers plugged a budget gap mostly by using money from the federal government. The house and senate approved about 740 million dollars in stimulus funds to erase a one billion dollar budget shortfall.An economist at the University of Tennessee is warning states the economy will still be weak when stimulus funds expire in 2011. Dr. Bill Fox says recessions are never one or two-year events.
Dr. Fox encourages states to find more long-term fixes for future budget cycles.
