American Municipal Power has received the last permit needed for its power plant in Meigs County.State Representative Debbie Phillips of Athens says the utility can now get started on construction "later this year."
AMP-Ohio plans to build a 1,000 megawatt clean coal facility along the Ohio River.
Phillips says it is expected to employ around 1,500 workers for construction, 150 full-time workers when fully operational, and another 15 workers at an associated fertilizer plant. © Copyright 2012, WOUB
