Worker's Compensation Policy Saves Money
(2009-06-19)
(WEKU) - The city of Ashland is going to save about $130,000 on workers' compensation insurance in the next fiscal year. That's the word from the city's Risk Manager, Jeff Walters. He says that's about 17% less than Ashland paid this past year.

Walters believes the savings is the result of better training, an aggressive 'return to work' policy following injuries, and increased competition among insurance carriers.

Walters says Ashland spent about $440,000 on its workers' comp policy in the year that ends July 1st.
