The school chiefs met with the governor prior to the start of this week's legislative session. Among them was Morehead State President Dr. Wayne Andrews. He says they were impressed with the priority the Beshear administration seems to have given education.
Andrews says many of the university presidents expected their budgets to be cut again.

It's likely the special session of the Kentucky General Assembly now underway is going to produce many friends for Governor Beshear or state lawmakers. That's because neither will get plaudits for cutting next year's budget by a billion dollars.However, there is one group that will probably be happy with its fate, considering the alternatives. That's Kentucky's university presidents, who are simply grateful their budgets weren't cut.
