A former president of Morehead State University, who came to the school when the country was in a recession, says Kentucky's colleges and universities will weather the economic adversity they're facing. Ron Eaglin became MSU's 12th president in 1992 and left the university five years ago. He said the recession has hurt post-secondary education everywhere but the US and Kentucky economies are both resilient.Eaglin said, when state revenues are increasing, those tougher choices are sometimes delayed.
He said now they're being forced on MSU and other schools and the results could be leaner but more cost-effective operations.
