Child safety experts are urging parents across the country to take lawn mower safety seriously. Dr. Gary smith of Ohio State University is a spokesperson for the American Academy of Pediatrics. He says about 16,000 youngsters are injured each year in accidents involving lawn mowers.Dr. Smith says back-over injuries frequently result in a child losing a limb or his or her life.
