The Blue Grass Army Depot is preparing for its first non-explosive ammunition project and Eastern Kentucky University students are involved. Depot Spokeswoman Jo Stephenson says three Industrial Technology students researched improvements for the manufacturing part of the project."We were able to have a win-win situation where they can bring the knowledge and skills to the table to help us be more efficient and effective and then they also get to work hand in hand with our subject matter experts here. So it's a great partnership."
The students suggested improvements which were added to the project, and the first test run is scheduled for July.
