The Elks Lodge in Ashland and several other civic groups are planning their first annual Ashland Youth Appreciation Day. It's tentatively scheduled for September 12th and David Blair is spearheading the effort. He says it's important for adults to show kids they care about them and provide alternatives to some of the negative influences to which they're exposed.Blair says it'll be a day of music, food and fun and everything will be free. He says the day can help build positive coalitions around the community to assist young people in improving their health, education and spiritual outlook.
