The Road to Canaan is a program of spirituals, songs of hope born out of the evil of slavery in the United States. Mollineaux has created a program that presents those songs and the stories of those enslaved; their struggles, their hopes, and their overwhelming thirst for freedom.
The Listening Room @ Maxwell Street Presbyterian Church features local and regional musicians of all genres presenting affordable entertainment in a family-friendly environment. The objective is to provide a listening room atmosphere that allows local and regional musicians to reach a new audience in a distraction-free setting and support the mission work of Maxwell Street Presbyterian Church. Upcoming performers @ The Listening Room include folk artist Robert Tincher on Feb. 28 and classical guitarist Richard Goering in the Spring.
A singer, songwriter and guitarist since the 1960s, Grover Mollineaux performs regularly in the Central Kentucky and Southern Ohio region and has appeared on numerous public radio programs including Red Barn Radio, Americana Crossroads and Barren River Breakdown.
Missions of Maxwell Street Presbyterian include community food ministries such as Thursday night meals that served more than 4,000 people in 2013, support for programs such as Random Acts of Kindness, the East Seventh Street Center, Kentucky Refugee Ministries, and services to thousands of area residents in need each year.
Admission to The Listening Room is a suggested donation of $10 to support Maxwell Street Presbyterian Mission Programs.
