Preventing the Flu at Universities: Obnoxioius, Surprising Messages May be More Effective
(2009-09-30)
(kcur) - College campuses can be hotbeds for the spread of viruses and infectious diseases. So, many universities across country are taking extra steps to prepare for possible H1N1 outbreaks. For one, they're advising students on how to prevent its transmission.

Doug Powell is a Professor of Food Safety at K-State's College of Veterinary Medicine.

Check out this Poster Powell is testing out around campus.

In 2006, Powell also developed a popular YouTube Video with some graduate students to promote hand-washing.

Funding for health care coverage on KCUR has been provided by the Health Care Foundation of Greater Kansas City.
