Hill Family Tragedy Inspires Pro Love TourBuffalo, NY(2009-11-18)Two and a half months ago a fiery six-car crash on the Niagara Thruway brought tragedy to one of Buffalo's most beloved theatre families. Despite heroic efforts, seven year-old Asa Hill, the grandson of Ujima Theatre co-founder Lorna Hill, died from injuries he sustained in the accident. But the tragic loss inspired his family and the community to come together. On Friday, dozens of musicians, artists and poets will come together again for the first Pro Love Tour.
Fiddler on the Roof Opens in Buffalo with Seasoned CastBuffalo, NY(2009-11-17)The Broadway tour of Fiddler on the Roof opens Tuesday night in Buffalo at Sheas Performing Arts Center. The production was originally billed as the farewell tour of the show's long-time star, Chaim Topol. However, Topol will no longer be touring with the show because of a medical emergency. The actor has made the central character Tevye's name synonymous with his own. But his replacement in the Buffalo production has spent the last two decades sharing his own identity with Tevye.
