(WBFO) - The leader of the state's largest teachers union is in Buffalo. He will be touring one city school Wednesday and expects to meet up with some local school leaders. As WBFO'S Eileen Buckley, the union leader believes City schools are headed in the right direction.

New York State United Teachers president Richard Iannuzzi. NYSUT represents more than 600,000 teachers across the State. Iannuzzi says much progress is being made to address the need for high quality standards and education. But he says they continue battling an achievement gap and low performing schools. Iannuzzi will be visiting one of Buffalo's elementary schools that was recently removed from the Schools Under Registration Review list know as SURR. He believes City schools are improving.
