Scholars Invite Public to Muse
(2009-02-26)
(WBFO) - Another lecture series in underway from the Humanities Institute at UB. The Scholars at Muse series offers the public thought-provoking conversations led by some of the region's and world's most renowned academics. To help stimulate the conversation, the lectures are held at the Muse Restaurant inside the Albright Knox Art Gallery. WBFO's Joyce Kryszak talked with coordinator Carrie Bramen and the next lecturer, UB media professor Sarah Bay-Cheng. They give us a preview of tomorrow's presentation.

If you missed the lecture on "realigning Alberti" - or the one on "selective attention," you still have a chance to stretch your mind and imagination. Upcoming lectures include a discussion of the "fragmented male body in visual art in the Weimar Republic." Next up on Friday, you can learn everything you ever wanted to know about the "Avant-Garde to the Avatar." Bramen and Bay-Cheng tell us why this is more than just gymnastics for the brain.

Bay-Cheng's lecture is Friday at 4:00 pm at the MUSE restaurant in the Albright Knox Art Gallery. It's free and open to the public. The lecture series continues through April, featuring different lectures at each event.
