Poloncarz said county spending is in jeopardy because the control board has not allowed him to take out a $75 million loan by the end of the month. Poloncarz says he would rather warn about the problem now, than have the county grind to a halt.
But Erie County Executive Chris Collins says he has received assurances from the control board that the borrowing will be completed by September 29th if the Legislature approves borrowing at Thursday's session. But the County Executive says there is no crisis.
