26th Congressional District Race Highlights Primary
(2008-09-09)
(WBFO) - It's primary day in New York, and it's a busy one. There are a number of contested races today -- the biggest in the 26th congressional district.

Three Democrats are competing for the seat being vacated by Republican Congressman Tom Reynolds. Jack Davis, the millionaire businessman from Akron, is making his third run. Iraq War veteran Jonathan Powers was the first candidate to express interest in running and received the endorsements of each of the Democratic committees across the sprawling district. And environmental attorney Alice Kryzan is hoping the attacks between Powers and Davis will syphon votes from them to her.

Michael Haselswerdt is a professor of political science at Canisius College. He joined WBFO's Mark Scott on the phone to assess Tuesday's primary.
