September is disaster preparedness month. On the steps of City Hall, Mayor Byron Brown joined County Executive Chris Collins to assure residents they are prepared for storm or an illness outbreak.

"We don't what's going to come at us, we don't when it's going to come at us. We train. We have back up centers. We have proceedures," said Collins.

Both the County and City say they have resources and equipment in place.

"Buffalo has been selected as a model of preparedness. We were selected by the Ready Community Partnership to be a national model for preparedness. It is a tremendous honor," said Brown.
