Mayor Extremely Disheartened by Gun Violence
(2008-09-03)
(WBFO) - For the second time in a week, children have become innocent bystanders of gun violence in Buffalo.

Police say someone pulled up in a vehicle and peppered a 13 year old girl and her seven year old sister with bird shot as they played in front of their home on Sprenger Avenue Monday night.

Shana Ford is in serious condition in the trauma unit at ECMC, and her 7 year old sister was treated at Women and Children's Hospital after being shot Monday night. The girls are related to State Assemblywoman Crystal Peoples.

The shooting occurred near the area were a 14 year old girl was fatally shot last week. WBFO'S Eileen Buckley has reaction from the Mayor and some community members.
