The Preservation League of New York State is trying to come to the aid of a West Side neighborhood as it faces Peace Bridge expansion. Plans for an expanded Peace Bridge plaza call for the demolition of some 88 homes and the loss of about two dozen nearby businesses.

Preservation League president Jay DiLorenzo appeared at the Connecticut Street Armory Wednesday. He says the Columbus Park Propsect Hill neighborhood is historic with some of the homes dating back to the 1850's.
