(WBFO) - Native Americans are voicing concerns over tougher new border crossings rules that took effect June 1st. Tribal leaders spoke out about the issue while in Niagara Falls Monday.

The new border crossing regulations and other tribal rights are being discussed at the National Congress of American Indians mid-year conference in Niagara Falls. The conference wraps up Tuesday.

Native Americans say under the Jay Treaty of 1794, they had a long tradition of the "right of free passage" at the borders between U.S. and Canada.
