A Purdue Olympic athlete is sharing her experience with some local school children. Kara Patterson competed in the javelin in Beijing.
She says qualifying for the 2008 Olympics was a dream come true.
Patterson hopes the Burnett Creek students see that hard work and dedication pay off.
Fourth-grader Mikaela Jennings is impressed that Patterson is a successful athlete and student.
Patterson will graduate from Purdue in May with a degree in Fitness and Nutrition.
She hopes to move to the Olympic Track and Field Training Center in San Diego to train for the 2012 games in London. © Copyright 2009, wbaa
