County APC developing list of transportation "Hot Spots"
(2008-09-22)
(wbaa) - Citizens have the opportunity to make driving, biking, and walking in Tippecanoe County safer and more pleasant.

Information gathered at a public meeting Tuesday night will be used to help the Area Plan Commission develop its annual list of transportation Hot Spots.

Transportation Planner Melissa Baldwin says all ideas are welcome, then it is up to the APC to pass the suggestions along to the appropriate City, County, or State agency.

She says common complaints include traffic congestion at US 52 and Cumberland Avenue in West Lafayette, traffic signal timing on State Road 26 from the interstate through downtown Lafayette, and rough railroad crossings.

The Citizen Participation Committee meets Tuesday night at seven in the County Office Building.

Online comments are being accepted through the County's website, on the Area Plan Commission's homepage.
