Vectren warns of rising home heating costs
(2008-09-18)
TIPPECANOE COUNTY, IN
(wbaa) -
Home heating bills are expected to go up this winter because of higher costs for natural gas. Vectren, which serves 568-thousand customers in 48 counties including Tippecanoe, says bills could increase as much as 25-percent compared to last year.
Company officials say customers can sign up for budget billing, which spreads energy costs out over the course of the year.
Vectren also offers rebates for new appliances such as high efficiency furnaces and programmable thermostats.
Help is available to low-income families through the company's Universal Service Program or from local community action agencies.
