Lafayette has "green" designs in mind
(2008-09-16)
LAFAYETTE, IN
(wbaa) -
Renovations on a downtown building in Lafayette will give the public a chance to see "green" construction in action. Work is underway at 515 Columbia Street and the city is following Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, or LEED, standards during the redesign.
The public is invited to take part in forums during and after the project. The first event is set for Wednesday afternoon at 4 at the Lafayette City Council chambers.
Lafayette Redevelopment Director Dennis Carson says it will be a unique experience.
The cost of the project is estimated between $300,000 and $500,000. The forum is part of Purdue's Green Week. © Copyright 2009, wbaa
