New Clarian Arnett Hospital will be not-for-profit
(2008-09-10)
LAFAYETTE, IN
(wbaa) -
The soon-to-be-open Clarian Arnett Hospital in Lafayette will reach out to more people without health insurance. The facility will be a not-for-profit business, so administrators say they can treat more low-income patients.
Clarian Health Partners CEO Dan Evans says regularly caring for those who may not have insurance will save money for the entire community.
Evans says the other difference is as a non-profit, the hospital will publish an annual report, which will show how it has benefited the Lafayette area.
He says that will include more public health education efforts and participating in medical research.
