Six downtown Lafayette restaurants partner with the Greater Lafayette Hunger Hike
(2008-09-10)
(wbaa) - Restaurants in downtown Lafayette are supporting this year's Greater Lafayette Hunger Hike.

Six local restaurants are donating 10 percent of their food sales during the week of September 15th to the charity.

Restaurants include Bea One, LaScala and Spurlock's. All participating businesses will have a Hunger Hike window cling.

Patti O'Callaghan is one of the event organizers. She says partnering with area restaurants is a win-win.

O'Callaghan says local celebrities such as Miss Purdue, Purdue First Gentlemen Christian Foster and TV-18 news anchor Jeff Smith will serve as maitre d's between 6 and 8 p.m. during the week.

The week concludes with the Hunger Hike on Sunday. The two mile hike begins at 2 p.m. at Reihle Plaza.
