Police make arrest in Delphi arson case DELPHI, IN (wbaa) - A Delphi man is facing an arson charge for a fire at Erie Canal Park over the weekend.

Police suspect Larry Farner set the blaze that caused an estimated $30,000 in damage to a 72-foot- long replica boat that was being used as a playground.

Authorities say the 62-year-old could have additional charges brought against him in an unrelated incident.

Members of the Wabash & Erie Canal Association plan to rebuild the boat.

They are asking for donations of money, supplies and labor to help the effort. © Copyright 2009, wbaa
