Busy Lafayette intersection to close LAFAYETTE, IN (wbaa) - The intersection of State Street and Earl Avenue in Lafayette will be shut down by next week for about two months.

City officials say the closure is necessary to install a traffic light and make other safety improvements before winter.

Ninety-percent of the roughly $800,000 project will be paid for with federal Hazard Elimination Safety funds.
