Lafayette pedestrian bridge to be repaired
(2008-09-02)
(wbaa) - Work on a pedestrian bridge in Lafayette will get underway soon.

City Engineer Jenny Bonner says the Highland Park pedestrian bridge has been closed for about a year.

She says getting the repair work underway is taking longer than expected, because initial quotes came in at twice what the city could afford to pay.

She says crews will reinforce the concrete on the underside of the bridge at a cost of roughly $100,000.

The work should be completed by the end of October.
