Charity event buys two defibrillators for police CARROLL COUNTY, IN (wbaa) - The Carroll County Sheriff's Department is getting two automated external defibrillators.

The devices use electric shocks to bring the body's heart back to a normal rhythm following a heart attack or other medical event.

The AEDs were paid for by the Duke Smyser Chili Blast Open, an annual golf outing.

This was the second year for the event.
