Lafayette leaders eye Bridgeway Apartments LAFAYETTE, IN (wbaa) - The Bridgeway Apartment complex on Greenbush Street in Lafayette could have a new owner.

The city's Redevelopment Commission approved looking into the purchase of the troubled complex.

Earlier this year, the federal government announced it would no longer give Section-8 vouchers for the units.

Redevelopment Director Dennis Carson says the commission's action is meant to protect the area around the Bridgeway Apartments. He says the city will work with developers to make the location an asset for the community.

While most tenants have moved out of the apartment, some still remain. Carson does not know when those renters have to leave.
