Lafayette, WL city employees prepare for insurance changes
(2008-08-26)
WEST LAFAYETTE, IN
(wbaa) -
Lafayette and West Lafayette employees may see a change in their insurance policies. Officials from both cities are meeting to discuss possible changes in deductibles and insurance co-pays.
Another idea that has been talked about is a health savings account. That is a tax-deductible fund employees can draw from for health related costs.
Officials say because of the rising cost of health insurance, employees can expect a higher premium.
Lafayette Mayor Tony Roswarski says his city is facing a 28% increase in the cost health insurance, which must be lowered. © Copyright 2009, wbaa
