Fundraising for Purdue pulls in $1.5 million WEST LAFAYETTE, IN (wbaa) - A community fundraising effort to support Purdue's Access and Success campaign is getting a $1.5 million boost.

Six university alumni from the area are donating the money to support the Mackey Arena renovation and expansion, and scholarships and programs for students.

The gifts from Gary and Shelly Henriott, Gary and Michele Lehman, and Jim and Mary Jo Risk are designed to spearhead the community portion of the drive.

The university is hoping to raise $10 million in contributions for the Access and Success campaign from Lafayette and West Lafayette-area residents by the end of 2009. © Copyright 2009, wbaa
