(2009-08-11)
Drew Feustel
(wbaa) - NASA wants a Purdue graduate to help deliver new equipment to the International Space Station.

Astronaut Drew Feustel will serve as a mission specialist on a flight which will carry an Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer.

The cosmic ray particle physics detector also will be installed during three space walks.

It's designed to examine fundamental issues about matter, and the origin and structure of the universe.

This will be Feustel's second shuttle mission. His first was in May, servicing the Hubble Space Telescope.

A launch date is set for the mission.
