WEST LAFAYETTE, IN
(wbaa) -
Detecting prostate cancer could be easier with a new method developed at a Purdue Research Park company.Professor Philip Low is leading the effort, which soon will be in clinical trials.
His company, Endocyte, has developed a drug that homes in exclusively on infected cells.
The method should allow a more targeted treatment of the cancer and prevent many of the usual chemotherapy side effects, such as hair loss.
The program may lead to treatments of other cancers as well.
