Community Harvest food drive kicks off Saturday
(2009-10-09)
(wbaa) - This year's Community Harvest Food Drive has a goal of exceeding 120,000 pounds in donations.

All items and money go to Food Finders Food Bank, which distributes goods to area pantries and soup kitchens.

Executive Director Katy Bunder says collections are intended to last through the winter, until the Letter Carriers food drive in May.

Bunder says the drive kick-off event is 10:00 Saturday morning at Food Finders on the south side of Lafayette.

She says a Family Fun Day is planned with tours of the facility, refreshments, and information on starting your own food drive.
