(2009-10-06)
INDIANAPOLIS, IN
(wbaa) -
The economic downturn will benefit Hoosiers who heat their home with natural gas.Vectren is predicting customers will see lower bills during the winter months, because the cost of natural gas is down. That's due to increased supplies and lower demand.
If this winter's weather is close to normal temperatures, the average decrease will be 25-30% or about $200 from November through March, when compared to last year.
A spokesperson says each customer's bill will varying, depending on their home's size and condition, the number of people living there, and number of gas appliances.
Vectren also reminds Hoosiers of its budget billing option, and the low-income home energy assistance program (LIHEAP) funded by the state and federal government, to help manage natural gas bills this winter.
