Interim committee looking at IN alcohol laws
(2009-09-14)
(wbaa) - Alcohol related issues will come before a panel of Indiana lawmakers.

The interim committee hopes to review state limits on rewarding permits and liability insurance for bars.

Commerce and Public Policy Senate Chairman Ron Alting says he intends to sponsor a bill to eliminate the ban on selling alcohol on Election Day.

The Lafayette area Republican says Tippecanoe County allows early voting for two weeks prior to Election Day, so the law really has no impact here.

The study panel will begin hearings Wednesday.
