IN delegation finalizing Asia trade mission plans

A group of elected officials, business executives and education leaders will travel to China and Japan next week.Nearly 50 people are part of the trade delegation led by Governor Mitch Daniels.
They're meeting with elected leaders, as well as various businesses, with the hope of attracting investment and jobs to Indiana.
Purdue is being represented by Vice Provost for Engagement Vic Lechtenberg. He plans to meet with trade and policy officials at a provincial agricultural bureau in Indiana's Chinese sister-state.
Logansport Mayor Mike Fincher is only traveling to Japan. He is one of about a half dozen mayors who are part of the delegation.
Private donations through the Indiana Economic Development Foundation are funding the travel and other trip expenses.
The trade mission members return September 16th.
