Purdue football loses to Michigan State

(wbaa) - Purdue Football lost a heart breaker to Michigan State 40-to-37 Saturday afternoon.

The Boilermakers Big Ten Record drops to 3-4 with the loss and they are now ineligible for a bowl game.

The Boilers fatal mistake came in the first seven seconds of the game.

When sophomore running back Ralph Bolden fumbled on the first play and the Spartans recovered it and returned it for a touchdown.

Head Coach Danny Hope says the team's mistakes ultimately cost them a win.

Senior quarterback Joey Elliot led the team with 373 yards of passing and two scores.

Purdue heads south to rival Indiana next weekend to close the season.
