Purdue Soccer defeats Illinois WEST LAFAYETTE, IN (wbaa) - Purdue soccer defeated Illinois Friday afternoon 1-0.

The Boilermakers improve their Big Ten record to 2-0-1.

The Boilers took control when they scored with under one minute remaining in the first half.

Head Coach Robert Klatte says the squad played a preventive defense in the second half to avoid giving up an easy goal.

The team was led by goaltender Jenny Bradfisch who recorded her second consecutive shutout.

Purdue plays Michigan State Sunday at one at home.
